On Monday, Nov. 21, and Tuesday, Nov. 22, the FCS department hosted Nacho Fest in which the different cooking classes create their own unique nacho dish to be judged by the Introduction to FCS classes.

“When Mrs. McDonough announced Nacho Fest, I was psyched,” said Emily Schlect, junior, who is currently in Gourmet Foods. “I mean, who doesn’t love nachos?”

The Baking and Pastries Arts class is focused on winning for their dessert nachos, while Gourmet Foods students and Food Restaurant Management students have more freedom to create the types of nachos that they believe will be most appetizing and most visually appealing to win.

“I’m so excited about the nachos, but I’m really excited about our t-shirts,” said FCS teacher Ms. Lindsey Goldsmith. “They say ‘Nacho Average Cooking Classes’, and they’re awesome.”
