Promising start for the Lady Dukes

The girls basketball season is in full swing after a successful season-opening tournament for the Lady Dukes.

In the 5th Annual York Thanksgiving Tournament, the varsity team finished in third place with a record of 3-1. In addition to third place, junior Danielle Dennis was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Despite a tough loss against tournament champions, Trinity, the Lady Dukes showed their grit in their impressive victories against opponents Niles West, Prospect, and Conant.

Such a prominent start is why the players have high hopes for the rest of the season.

“Our goals are to win conference, for our team to improve as a whole, and to make the most out of this season,” said Mia Varzino, senior.
