“Smoothie World” set to change location

Miss Vanessa bids farewell to her current smoothie spot.

York’s “Smoothie World,” run by the beloved Miss Vanessa Taylor, who also pinned the term, is set to move its location this Monday.

Although the current C-Building location receives a lot of traffic throughout the day, the popular smoothie stand will be relocating to the A-Building. You will find it next to the breakfast station by the entrance of the Academic Building.

The choice to move “Smoothie World” was not made by Miss Vanessa, but she remains optimistic about the move.

“As long as it means keeping my job and being with you kids, it’s golden,” said Miss. Vanessa. “We’ll make it work.”

The reasons for moving the smoothie stand were well thought-out by York administrators.

“We moved it because, in the new location, it’s close to the coffee station and closer to the senior courtyard,” said Mr. McGuire, assistant principal. “We also didn’t want students bringing food in to the Learning Commons, so it just made sense.”

While some students are upset that they will no longer pass the smoothie station on their way to gym, the Learning Commons, or the Lincoln Lab anymore, others keep an attitude similar to Miss Vanessa’s.

“I think it’ll be great,” said Alison Morales, senior. “That means I don’t have to walk up the stairs, and I can get my food as I walk in and out.”

Either way, all students are likely to visit the new location for their daily snacks and the joy of seeing Miss Vanessa.

“I love you kids, I love your zeal and I love that you give back the love I give to you,” said Miss Vanessa. “It doesn’t matter as long as I’m in the building. . . just don’t move me out of here!”
