As of now, spring sports are in full swing. While the snow has pushed back several teams’ first games, the girls soccer team is greatly anticipating their season. Last year their record had more losses than wins, but there is hope that they will do better this coming season.

With the loss of 14 seniors, the girls soccer team expects a whole new team to handle this upcoming competitive season.

“Although I am disappointed by the loss of seniors, I think it gives a chance for the underclassmen to prove themselves for years to come,” said senior, Jenna Lundgren, who has been on varsity since her freshman year. “We still have six returning starters who play a large role on our team. Every high school sport loses players, we will just have to overcome its challenges.”

Even with several new players, the girls soccer team has a record of comradery and respect throughout the whole program, which makes it easy for the girls on the team to form relationships with each other.

“Once we get used to playing with each other and really getting to gel as a team, I think our season is going to be great,” senior Gabriela Uribe said.

Some girls are the most excited to gain, and or further, their friendships this season with the girls on the team.

“I’m excited for the relationships on this team and I think that we make each other stronger, as people and as players, which is hard to find in a team,” Lundgren said.

This girls soccer team believes that despite their loss of seniors, this season is going to be a competitive one that will build character within team relationships.
