York honors those who served at annual Veterans Day assembly
November 9, 2018
This morning, York remembered both their history and their heroes by honoring veterans from the community and within York at the annual Veterans Day assembly.
“It is well known that a nation that forgets its history, and forgets his heroes, will soon be forgotten itself,” Larry Kaifesh said. “That is the reason that we celebrate Veterans Day. That is the reason that we recognize our Veterans commitment.”
Members of the military history club organized the event, which featured speakers Larry Kaifesh and World War 2 veteran Marvin Sussman. Both speakers encouraged the students to honor the service and sacrifices of America’s veterans, and evaluate our responsibility as American citizens.
“Students of York,” Marvin Sussman said, “it’s your responsibility to seek the truth.”
