Is this York? – Christmas season is here
December 18, 2018
The calendar hits December. The temperature starts to drop. Snow if falling. It’s winter in Chicago and that means it’s time to shop and participate in your favorite winter activities the city of Chicago has to offer during the holiday season.
There are plenty of activities to keep you busy during the holidays such as ice skating, christmas shopping, playing in the snow and more. Along with all the holiday fun and festivities comes crowded malls and chaos, with everyone scrambling to find the perfect gifts.
To combat the hoards of people who pack the malls every weekend starting as early as Black Friday all throughout December, many have found other more convenient stores to shop at.
“I personally prefer to get my holiday shopping done at 7-11,” Chris T. Mass said. “You can really beat the crowds and find a gift for everyone, shopping at 7-11.”
Chris isn’t the only one who takes advantage of the plentiful stock and short lines at local convenient stores.
“I have been doing all my gift shopping at the local corner store for years now” Elmhurst resident Ken D. Kane said. “It’s fast, never crowded, and you are sure to find a variety of gifts for the whole family. Who doesn’t love waking up on christmas day to a stocking full of slushie?”
Shopping at your local 7-11 is not the only way to get away from the crowds. Many have discovered that there are still plenty of winter activities to enjoy such as going to the beach.
“I go to the beach in the winter because it is always too crowded at the ice skating rink,” Jen Gerbred said. “It’s a great weekend activity for the whole family to enjoy.”
With all the Christmas time craziness, make sure when you are planning your holiday festivities, consider these options.
