Want to get the locks chopped?

When my hair gets long, I get mom, some money and head on down to the Barber Shop.

This is a community shop located at 765 North York Street in Elmhurst where guys like me get their hair cut by experts.

The shop opened in 1963, and is owned and operated by Ralph Grect. Ralph opened the shop to meet new people.

In addition to engaging in intriguing discussions with customers about anything from current events to pop culture, he also has lively conversations with the other three barbers: Ronnie, Lorenzo and Eddie.

Customers never experience a dull moment or boring conversation when those four are at work.

For the small sum of $17.00, patrons can walk away with some new ideas about life and a sharp haircut. It’s certainly worth the change in your pocket.

Junior, Anthony Tovar, recently had his hair cut at The Barber Shop, and in addition to enjoying the atmosphere of the shop, he’s received several compliments about his new haircut.

“I felt at home in the shop,” Tovar said. “And people have told me the cut looks good.”

So, if you’re looking to get a nice hair cut in a fun, comfortable atmosphere, pay a visit to The Barber Shop.

Open Tuesdays through Fridays from 8-6, and Saturdays 8 to 4. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
