York’s annual Fine Arts Week in full swing on day one
March 2, 2020
Monday, March 2, kicked off York’s annual Fine Arts Week with performances from York Speech Team, Sketch Comedy Club, guest band ‘Comedie’ and guest speaker Michael Salvatori. Salvatori is a York alumnus who is a composer for popular video games series such as Halo and Destiny. Comedie is a rock band from Nashville, featuring York graduate Justin Zemgulys. Fine Arts Week has been a York tradition for over 30 years. The following days will feature more performances from guest artists and students involved in the talent show.
Senior speech state finalist Grace Maietta performs "Can I Get A Witness?", her prose about a conflicted Jehovah's Witness. "Fine arts week gives the student body a chance to see what we (speech team) actually do," Maietta said. "I feel like they hear a lot about and no one no one can really understand speech until you see it happening before you."
