York drama leaps into dance rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar”
March 8, 2020
This past week, the cast of “Jesus Christ Superstar” learned all of the choreography for York drama’s upcoming spring musical. “Choreo week” is a key part of the rehearsal process for every musical at York, where students work long hours to learn and practice the dances in the production.
The ensemble lifts senior Sean Solem, Jesus, in "Simon's Zealots", a number where they are worshiping and honoring Jesus. "This is my second choreo week for a spring musical," junior Heidi Ward said. "This one was a lot better because "Jesus Christ Superstar" is a sung through show. Also, I have more of a dance based role which made it more exciting and interesting."
