York Drama begins shooting for their film, “The Laramie Project”

February 2, 2021

Take one! York Drama has stepped into brand new territory with its winter production of “The Laramie Project”. With the help of film director Michael Berry and alumni Matt Bourke, directors Rebecca Marianetti and John Forysthe are working to create a full film that is set to premiere to the community. In January, actors and directors set out to film using just two cameras, many layers of warm clothes and a whole lot of collaborative effort. COVID-19 guidelines were followed throughout the entire process, ensuring the safety of all those involved.

“The Laramie Project” was created by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Company after the tragic death of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The play consists of interviews and journal entries that focus on the aftermath of the hate crime that impacted the town and its citizens forever.
