One of the only auditioned gym classes at York is the advanced dance class, who held their annual concert in the Black Box at York on November 12th. The class performed three numbers under the direction of Mrs. Anna Sapozhnikov and Mrs. Michelle Scurlock, who joined the performing arts staff this year.

In addition to the advanced dance class, York Dance Company (YDC) made it’s debut performance. The audition-only dance group was started this year by Mrs. Scurlock, and the various groups rehearse before school twice a week. One group, choreographed by Janae Nutter, joined the class at the concert to perform her dance.

Following tradition, a professional dance group was invited to perform on the York stage–RE/Dance.
