Since 2014, middle schools from District 205 have started teaching eighth graders in enriched math programs Geometry instead of Algebra. Since eighth graders are learning Geometry, the York Math Department had to rearrange the math schedule for incoming freshmen by advancing them to one year in math courses. Now, eighth graders who are taking Enriched Geometry will avoid taking Geometry again at York by taking Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry.
