For the past four seasons, softball player Sarah Milkowski has all but exceeded expectations year after year. The girls starting catcher led the team to sectionals last year and sported a .593 batting average last season, pioneering another York regional championship. For her excellence on the field, she was named WGN Athlete of the Month. Despite her individual accolades, team success comes first to her. “That was such a great honor. I couldn’t have done it without everyone on the team last year. The team atmosphere and camaraderie made playing so much fun and natural,” said Milowski. Along with being the leader of the softball team, Milkowski starred on the basketball team during her four years as a Duke as well. Although her athletic accomplishments were nothing short of incredible, she is not continuing her athletic career collegiately. “I do not plan on playing softball in college. I hope to join a club or intramural team to stay active,” said Milkowski.
