York Welcomes New Secretary of Assistant Principals!

Suzanne Hughes is excited to spend her first year at York for the 2015-2016 school year as the new Secretary for the Assistant Principals.

The school went through a long process to find the perfect secretary for assistant principals. Hughes had to go through two different interviews, have her references called by the assistant principals, and get fingerprinted before she was able to start her job here at York.

Hughes “wanted a job that would work well with being a mom,” and working as a school secretary gives her a chance to work hours that correspond well with her kids’ school hours.

This isn’t her first time working as a secretary, Hughes was actually a secretary at one of her very first jobs. Although this is her first time working in a school as a secretary, she knows exactly how to keep York High School organized and in check.

“I answer the phone calls that come into the office and so much more,” Hughes said. “I help the assistant principals with projects. I organize all the announcements that scroll on the York TV’s. I help teachers and coaches book space for their activities.”

Even though the school year has just barely started, Suzanne Hughes is excited to be a part of the York High School family.

Hughes said, “It’s so fun seeing all the students coming into school each day and at their activities after school. I can’t wait for football season to start!”
