Japanese Culture and Animation Club posing with there finished hallway: Godzilla v.s Chicago

On Sept. 16, room A354 was buzzing after school with the sound of student determination to make their hallway the best in the school.

Freshmen, seniors, and even the club adviser, Tim Albert, were putting up buildings, designing skylines, and coloring pictures to be presented in the hall.

Although competition is tough this year, students are still very optimistic about the chances of Japanese Culture and Animation Club (JCAC) winning Best Decorated Hallway despite JCAC having no budget, according to Albert.

“I believe we do have a chance of winning” said juniors Michael Melendez and Danny Hrametz.

They both agreed that JCAC will win because they are a team working hard to win the coveted title.

“Plus we have Godzilla on our side!” added junior Mark Molayal.

Many other JCAC members agree that they can win, but are also weary of other competing clubs.

“I believe we do have a chance” said senior Issak Reveles. “But we need to keep in mind other clubs that are working hard as well.”

Not only was JCAC hand making decorations and putting up Chicago skylines, but so was Mirrors, Latina Dreamers, and Italian club– giving it their all in the last hour of decorating.

However, what makes JCAC unique from other clubs at York is that it feels like a family, according to JCAC member Hrametz. The club welcomes all students who appreciate Japanese culture and want to be a part of the family.
