The Boys Golf Team’s hard work has earned them a very successful season and a win at their regional meet on October 6.

We have had a great season posting a 10-1 dual meet record,” said Head Coach Jim Borel.

The impressive record is a result of a lot of hard work as the boys have faced some very tough competition this season.

“We have won the twenty-four team Lake Park Invite, the prestigious Hinsdale Central Invite and the twenty-eight team Batavia Invite,” said Coach Borel. “Winning the IHSA regional was icing on the cake of an already great season.”

The boys success is largely due to some great athletes and leaders on the team.

“Our senior captains, Will Gunst and Jordan Less, have led the team both on and off the course. They are great leaders and great golfers and largely responsible for our success,” said Borel. “We also have some of the best junior golfers in the state like Mark Leali, Tom Manning, Mitchell Russell, Kyle Kubycheck and Jake Cznerik.”

The boys are excited for their efforts to pay off with the sectional and state meets coming up.

“We are looking forward to the IHSA sectional next Monday against some very good golf teams and if we play like we have been playing, we will be tough to beat,” said Borel.
