On April 18 from 3:20 to 4pm, York’s incredibly successful Scholastic Bowl team will be going head-to-head against the York faculty champions in a battle of the brains.

According to Scholastic Bowl Coach Andrew Bendelow, Scholastic Bowl is a competitive IHSA activity that asks timed questions from different categories such as Social Studies, Math, Science, Literature, Fine Arts, and pop culture.

With York’s teaching faculty being ranked the sixth best unit in Illinois according to the K12 Niche site, teachers from across the curriculum are strongly encouraged to sign up for the event by April 11.

The annual Faculty-Student Match will consist of answering timed questions from different categories approved by the National Scholastic Quiz Association. The player with the quickest and most correct answer, as indicated by a buzzer system, wins.

Afterwards, pizza and beverages will be provided to both teams.

Come out and support who you think will win on April 18, forum room A294 after school!
