I want to go to beaches in The Bahamas. I would lay out on the beach, drink fruity drinks, and sleep for hours on end in my Hawaiian tees and get crazy bad tan lines.

Jazz to me is like grass, it just grows a little faster. I remember being small and lying in the grass, there was nothing else in the world but me and it. I could feel it growing around me if I tried hard enough, but not anymore. I guess the reason why I play music is because I want to feel that grass grow again. You know what I mean?

I remember going into The Chicago Music Exchange, picking up a guitar and being approached by an old dude. This man told me he was a gypsy and then began to teach me how to play gypsy style guitar. At school the next day, my friend asked me if I wanted to start a gypsy jazz band. It was completely coincidental. Spooky, too.
