This season the varsity girls basketball team has been full of excitement for the Lady Dukes, and their most recent game against Lyons Township was no exception.

The Dukes shined against their conference rivals, the Lions, pulling out a hard-fought 65-59 win in double overtime.

This impressive victory is empowering to the varsity team, especially while considering the fierce competition in the West Suburban Silver Conference this year.

“I think the conference this year is a lot more interesting than usual,” said Erin Strauss, senior on the team. “Everyone is losing to each other; there’s not really one team that’s destroying everyone.”

With this win, the Lady Dukes improve to 13-8 for the season, specifically 4-5 against conference opponents.

With the last leg of their season coming up, the varsity team hopes to get a few more wins in their remaining conference match-ups against Glenbard West, Oak Park River Forest, and Downers Grove North.
