Bring on the Dancing Machines
If there is one thing that sets Urban Arts apart from the rest of the clubs at York, it is that they are persistent about performing and not afraid to show people that they can dance.
Urban Arts have really planned ahead this year, and students and staff are in for some great performances, whether it be salsa, hip-hop, waltz, or all of the above.
“Right now were working on our basketball performances and later in the season we will be going to basketball conferences, but we don’t really compete we just share our dance skills with others schools,” said Angelica Ramirez, president of Urban Arts. “At the end of the year we usually have our final dances for Fine Arts Week and International Fest.”
Even though practices for upcoming performances have begun, student are still welcome and encouraged to join and dance with them. Urban Arts is a group that always accepts and motivates anyone to join the group–it doesn’t matter if you can dance or not, they’ll turn you into a dancing machine.
