Senior baseball player Tyler Arista will continue his baseball career at Calvin University starting in the fall of 2021. “I’ve been playing baseball my entire life. At a young age, I would always work hard to become better athletically, but I decided to take my work more seriously at the beginning of my freshman year. I was determined to work resiliently towards my goal of playing college baseball. I would train for a countless amount of hours a day during the week. Whether it was weight lifting, hitting, or catching bullpens, I needed to find a way to become better every day. While I might not be the tallest person playing the game of baseball, my work ethic has been the one thing that has gotten me to this point. Those early morning practices for York and late training days has shaped me into the player I have become. Having the opportunity to play baseball at Calvin University means a lot to me because it shows that all my hard work has paid off. The people that have motivated me the most are God and my family. They have always been my #1 supporters, and I couldn’t have done it without them. I am also grateful for Coach Van Duyn for giving me this opportunity to further my education, grow my faith, and play baseball for Calvin University," Arista said.
