World Language Olympics summary
On Thursday, Jan. 29, after school in the Commons, language clubs participated in the third annual World Language Olympics. The World Language Olympics consisted of small competitions such as bag toss, hula hoop, pie eating contest, human knot, and trivia at the end of the olympics.
The World Language Olympics was invented as a way for different language clubs to get to know each other.
“It’s about getting to know all the people who love language and culture,” said Ms. Mishigian, a French teacher and adviser for French Club.
During the World Language Olympics, the uniqueness was evident in all clubs despite them sharing the common characteristic of immersing themselves in a culture. Many clubs offer opportunities for members aren’t in a language class.
Overall, World Language was a fun success for all clubs. As for who won the competition, Hispanos Unidos was victorious.
