National Honors Society votes for future officials
On Thursday, April 30, juniors who are members of the National Honors Society voted for potential officers for next year.
The current NHS officers are: Tom Stotzer (President), Francesca Sciaccotta (Vice President), Shanyall Kaduthodil (Treasurer), Isabella Jaeger (Secretary), and Mary Kate Boyle (Historian).
The candidates for the 2015-2016 school year are Julia Derkshelde, Kenny Sidoryk, Mark Edakara, Jerrin Matthew, Valeria Martinez, Kristen Viola, Francesca Carfaghnini, Grace Achepohl, Emily Morris, Lillian Alexandrova, Alexis Olsen, Josh Horance, Megan Backman, and Sona Jain.
Out of the 14 candidates, voters were to choose the four that they considered the most capable of leading NHS.
“All the candidates are really good; they’re so hard to chose from,” said Sona Jain, a junior.
The chosen candidates will gain a lot of responsibility by becoming an NHS officer.
“By becoming a NHS officer, one will need to communicate with the advisors and help coordinate meetings,” said Mrs. Feldkamp-Pradhan, a counselor and advisor of NHS.
The newly nominated officers will be announced in the next meeting on May 8.
