York welcomes William Barnum
Not only are new students getting used to a new school, but so are some of the new teachers as well– including the new Computer Programming and Business teacher, William Barnum.
Barnum taught for three years at Jefferson Junior High in Woodridge, IL before finding an opening here at York.
“I heard good things about York, they had an opening for a programming teacher, and it seemed like a good fit,” said Barnum.
Students seem to agree that Barnum is a well-respected teacher.
“He’s a good teacher and knows what he’s talking about,” said a student from Barnum’s AP Computer Science Class. “I’m glad that he’s here.”
Barnum’s goal in the programming courses is to have students get a good understanding of object oriented programming; and for the students in AP to get a good understanding of java and to be prepared for the AP test.
“I’m real happy to be here– it’s a great school and a great bunch of students,” Barnum said.
