Last Wednesday night, September 17th, Ed Sheeran took over Tinley Park’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. The concert started off strong with Christina Perri as the opening act. She wowed the crowd with a few of her most famous songs such as “Jar of Hearts”, “Arms”, and “A Thousand Years”. Throughout some of these numbers, Perri also played the piano. Next up, Passenger took the stage. Passenger is known for his hit song, “Let Her Go”. He joked that the song is commonly mistaken for “Let it Go” from the Disney film Frozen. After giving the audience a few good laughs, Passenger left the stage making way for the main act of the night, Ed Sheeran.

Starting off with a bang playing two of his hits titled “I’m a Mess”, and “Lego House”, Sheeran told the audience about his style of playing concerts which unlike other artists that have a band with a drummer, guitarist, and others, Sheeran does all of these things with his looping system.  By hitting the loop petal using his feet alone, Sheeran is able to combine different sounds to create what is heard on the radio as well as at concerts. Sheeran entertained the crowd by playing his most popular songs such as “Thinking out Loud” and “Photograph”, but he also played one of his older songs, “The A Team”. Sheeran left the stage, but came back for an encore playing “You Need Me”. During this song, Sheeran took an unexpected turn and remixed the song by combining it with “Know Yourself” by Drake. Sheeran ended the show with “Sing” and the crowd did just that as he walked off the stage. Overall, Sheeran impressed the crowd with his extraordinary talent. All were entertained that attended the concert and went home wanting more.
