Starting on Friday, October 16 and continuing to Saturday, October 17th, the York Girls’ Tennis Team faced off against several other schools in their sectional meet held at Barens Park in Elmhurst. These matches, for many of the girls, victory would qualify them to  move on to the state match held later in October.

On Friday, their meet started at noon. Maja Shaw defeated her opponent in three sets. Doubles partners, Julia Riddle and Claire Meyer, defeated their opponents as well. Both Maja, Julia and Claire are all moving on to state. Alex Hennessy and Abby Brigman are also moving on to State after their win on Friday.

Hopefully, a lot of York students come out to Buffalo Grove tomorrow to see the girls win at their state match!
