Food Fight is coming to York
Food Fight, a club originally from Naperville Central High School, is all about helping end world hunger. Promptly, York plans on establishing a Food Fight club as well.
They felt that starting a high school club was a good idea because students– especially teenagers– have more of an impact on the world than they are given credit for.
For the club, students get together to package and send out meals for countries in need such as Nepal and Sri Lanka.
All money raised by students in the Food Fight club goes specifically to Impact Lives, a non-profit organization that helps buy special ingredients that go into the making of the food packaged and sent out.
Food Fight is currently at: Naperville North, Naperville Central, Matea Valley, Nequa Valley and Oswego High School; soon, York will be added to the list.
“Our dream is to someday eradicate world hunger, creating strong and effective student leaders along the way,” said Macaila Britton, club leader.
