Varsity cheer makes history with fourth in state

On Sat., Feb. 6, for the first time in York’s history, the co-ed cheer team advanced to day two of the IHSA Competitive Cheerleading State Competition at Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL.  The team set another school record with fourth place finish overall.

The team is led by seniors Matt DeJesus, Madison Hoffman, Marina Johnson, Samantha C., Montana, who have worked hard for the last four years and have set up the program for a great future.

While they fell short of third place by a tenth of a point, the York cheer team has stepped up its game from last year’s  11th place finish and ended their season with great promise and excitement for next year.
