V-day Celebrates Women

The+purpose+to+pass+out+hearts+on+Valentines+day+is+a+way+to+show+that+we+should+support+one+another%2C+said+Lindsey+DiTomasso.+Also+it+raises+awareness+on+a+variety+of+issues+not+just+in+York+but+worldwide+about+violence+against+women.+It+was+also+a+really+positive+reaction+from+both+boys+and+girl+and+it+was+great+to+see+that+everyone+was+participating.

“The purpose to pass out hearts on Valentines day is a way to show that we should support one another,” said Lindsey DiTomasso. “Also it raises awareness on a variety of issues not just in York but worldwide about violence against women. It was also a really positive reaction from both boys and girl and it was great to see that everyone was participating.”

On Friday, Feb. 12 in the York academic entrance, members of the Empower club passed out felt hearts to spread awareness and educate students about violence against women.
