York football suffers loss against Hilltoppers

On Fri., Sep. 9, York played the Glenbard West Hilltoppers. Playing a tough game, the varsity football team lost 7-42.

While the first quarter did not go as York fans and athletes expected, there was still an extreme amount of school spirit not only in the stands, but on the field as well. The quarter ended with Glenbard West up by 14 points to York’s zero.

York’s offense seemed to excite the players and fans as they scored their first touchdown of the game during the second quarter. While this got everybody’s spirits up, players seemed to be thrown off when the Hilltoppers scored their third touchdown, leaving the final score of the first half 7-21.

At the start of the second half, York was not able to score any touchdowns throughout this quarter. Although, their defense was highlighted during this part of the game, the team was able to keep the score at a steady 7-21 during the third quarter.

As the game came to an end and the stands started to empty, GBW continued to make touchdown after touchdown. York lost a difficult game 7-42.
