On Thursday, March 13, York’s student body president, Mary-Margaret Koch, had the privilege of meeting President Obama.  Chosen to participate in the U.S. Senate Youth Program,  she traveled to Washington, D.C.,  to learn more about the three branches of government and to increasingly develop her leadership skills in public service.

During the week in Washington, Koch–with the other students chosen from across the country–were given tours around historical cites and met with elected and appointed government officials, including Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.  Her experience was reported by the Chicago Tribune.
