York High School Mock Election Results

On Tuesday, October 7th, a mock election took place at York. Students voted in gubernatorial, senate, and other races, many of which are extremely close in current polls and could be up for grabs come November 4th, the date of the general election. Nearly 1,400 students cast a ballot in an attempt to experience the right to vote, and to prepare themselves for voting as adults. In addition to the election, there were 3 propositions on the ballot that citizens will vote on in the general elections, but York students also voiced their opinions. The questions to voters were:

Should the minimum wage be increased to $10 an hour?

Should there be a tax on people making more than $1,000,000 a year?

Should prescription birth control be covered in comprehensive health insurance plans?
