York patriotism touches down at first home football game

York hosted its first home football game of the year Friday, Sept. 1. Students gathered under the Friday night lights to cheer their home team on from the familiar green stands. The theme of the game was red, white, and blue, and students packed in, wearing their U.S.A. colors and creating a patriotic sea of school spirit.

Although the team was defeated 6 to 14 by visiting team Addison Trail, the game was still enjoyable for all who attended, and the school spirit was like no other.

“School spirit brings the students of the school together,” said junior David Hansen, “and we all get to have fun celebrating the team.”
