Halloween Treats

Having a few people over for Halloween and want to surprise their taste buds? Well you’re in luck, because in this issue of the york-hi we have a tasty treat to make your Halloween that much better!

I present to you… MUMMY DOGS!!!!. This is a very simple recipe for a very delightful Halloween treat. There are many variations that you can try, such as cocktail weenies or maybe even switch out the dough with cinnamon roll dough.

Mummy Dogs

( Ingredients )

  • 6-12 Hot Dogs
  • 1 can of Breadsticks (I used Pillsbury) – you can also use crescent rolls in the can, just roll them out so they are long pieces
  • Butter/Margarine (optional)
  • Mustard/Ketchup (just a bit for the eyes)

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Open can of breadsticks and stretch each piece, so it will fit around entire hot dog
  3. Start at the top and make a little head wrap then continue wrapping all the way down the hot dog (overlapping but leaving small gaps)
  4. Place on greased baking sheet
  5. Bake for 11-12 minutes
  6. You can then brush each one with a little butter (this is optional but makes them look yummy and taste even better!)
  7. Add eyes with the Mustard/Ketchup  (easiest to use a toothpick)
  8. Enjoy!
