Bears Recap–Week 6

Bears get out of Slump!

After disappointing losses to the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers, the Chicago Bears went into Atlanta to face the 2-3 Falcons. The Bears also being 2-3 needed to win to make sure they kept themselves in the play off picture. After a  scoreless first quarter, the Bears came alive in the second quarter, scoring 13 points. In total, the Bears scored 27 points, out-scoring the Falcons in both the second and fourth quarters.

The Bears, this season have struggled to outscore their opponents in the fourth quarter this season. Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler had an impressive game, completing 26 of 38 passes with NO interceptions. No interceptions was quite exciting for Bears fans because his last few games have been disappointing in terms of turnovers. It gave the fans hope for more wins to come this season. Cutler threw one touchdown to  wide receiver Josh Morgan and a two-point conversion to Martellus Bennett. Matt Forte had two rushing touchdowns and a total of 110 rushing yards.

The Bears defense was missing many important players, including linebacker Lance Briggs due to a rib injury. His return is undecided for next week against the Miami Dolphins. Matt Ryan was sacked 3 times by the Bears ferocious defense. The Bears out-standing defensive player this week was defensive end Willie Young who had two of the three Bears sacks.
