Are you a part of the fandom most commonly known as the “Directioners?” Are you obsessed with five British/Irish boys?

Even if these boys aren’t all you think about, I encourage you to go check out their new 3D movie “One Direction: This Is Us” which premiered on August 30th, 2013 with a playing time of 1 hour 32 min. This documentary allows the viewers to experience what it’s like to be in the shoes of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Harry Styles. The story takes you behind the scenes with the boys and includes live concert footage including a performance at the legendary O2 Arena in London.

Apart from seeing hilarious video clips ranging from Liam and Harry trying to catch a fish to Niall goofing around backstage, this film also includes personal stories that can get quite emotional.

Each band member talks about his hometown and favorite memories. They also talk about their families which include short clips from their moms. This allows you to get a glimpse at how hard it can be living far away from home and barely seeing your family, so it shows how dedicated they are to performing.

“This is my favorite part of the movie,” said junior Lauren Gibisch. “I love being able to experience the fun things they do when they are around their family.”

Another emotional scene is when some of the boys are leaving each other for the first time in months to go back home for a while. Liam describes how hard it was because he’s gotten to know these “lads” on such a deep level that they basically are brothers, and it’s hard to say good-bye. He explains that their bond has definitely grown and it makes him so happy, yet sad when they are apart for a month or longer. However, they greatly value the time they are able to spend at home because at one point, they were only able to go home for five days out of the entire year.

Finally, the big climax is when you see them perform at the O2 Arena in London. It’s such a big step for them from starting as a small group on the X-Factor to performing at one of the most famous arenas in the world. It’s quite the experience, as if you are actually there.

All in all, I definitely think this movie is worth every penny you spend on it. Whether you want to see embarrassing footage from the boys, or experience what it would be like to see them from the front row, this movie has it all. You definitely don’t want to miss out on the unforgettable experience.
