The NFL draft is nearing, which means that college football players are preparing to turn their dreams into a reality as they start their professional career.

The draft will be held in Chicago for the second year in a row and will span over two days with six rounds.

The Los Angeles Rams hold the first pick, and they are in desperate need of a quarterback. After their recent move from St. Louis to Los Angeles, they are in a rebuilding period– looking for a quarterback who will be their future.

According to Walterfootball.com, there is a total of 27 quarterbacks in the draft. Some led teams to national championships, others have never been heard of, and others proved to be NFL ready all throughout their college careers.

The top two quarterbacks are Carson Wentz from North Dakota State University and Jared Goff from California- Berkeley. Wentz led his team to two FCS Championships as a starter during his junior and senior seasons. He threw very few interceptions during his college career but he never faced one of the five powerhouse conference teams. Although Goff did not lead his team to a championship, his team was bowl eligible and faced tougher competition every week.

Outside of quarterbacks, top prospects are preparing to start their careers tonight. One is Joey Bosa from Ohio State University. The 6’ 5”, 269-pound defensive end has put up nearly the same combined numbers as J.J. Watt, but the defensive end still faced criticism after the combine. He had better numbers during his pro day at Ohio State, along with 13 other Ohio state players entering the draft, according to Cleveland.com.

Other players who led the Buckeyes to a 2014 National Championship look to be drafted early. NFL legend Keyshawn Johnson’s nephew, Michael Thomas, is a top wide receiver in the draft and should have success immediately in the NFL.

Although Cardale Jones finished the 2014 season as the starter and won the national championship in 2014, the following year did not go so well. He was benched midseason, and he most likely would have been the number two quarterback this season for the Buckeyes. He most likely will get drafted late, but his size and arm strength sticks out.

Although powerhouse program Ohio State is producing a lot of players, other schools are too.

Ole Miss wide receiver, Laquon Treadwell, is the best wide receiver in the draft. Wide receivers do not get picked early in the first round, but he will be the first receiver drafted, most likely going to Minnesota with the 23rd pick.

Coming from the west coast is one of the most athletic players in the draft. Myles Jack from UCLA is looking to be an early pick. The outside linebacker has speed to get him anywhere on the field and decision making so quick he will definitely have a successful career.

The NFL Draft will fulfill dreams and will motivate players if drafted late. For the first time in a long time, they have to build a name for themselves and be at the bottom until they succeed in the NFL.
